Is there a LFL?

The LFL, or Legends Football League, is an American women’s football league. The league is composed of seven teams in the United States and one team in Australia, and the season runs during the traditional football season in February, March, and April.

The LFL was founded in 2009 as the Lingerie Football League, and changed its name in 2013 to distance itself from the lingerie-style apparel that the players initially wore. The league’s objective is to provide an opportunity for female athletes to participate in sport in a safe and secure environment, whether they are semi-professional or professional athletes.

The LFL consists of full contact football games without the traditional pads, helmets and other protective gear that is usually used in the sport. Instead, the LFL players opt for form-fitting apparel.

The goal of the league is to bring a unique, co-ed sports entertainment experience to its fans.

How do you work out LFL?

LFL, or Like-For-Like sales, is used to measure the performance of a company’s sales over a period by excluding new stores or extensions from the figures. It is particularly used in the retail sector to measure their performance compared to the same period the previous year.

Calculating LFL is fairly straightforward. You start by taking your current sales figure and subtracting the sale figure of any new stores opened in the period. For any closed stores, you would add their sales figures to give an “adjusted” figure.

Then you just divide this adjusted figure by the sales figure from the same period the previous year. This should give you the LFL figure.

For example, if you had a total sales figure of $1,000,000, minus the sale figure of any new stores opened in the period of $50,000, plus the sale figure of any stores closed in the period of $25,000, then it would be an adjusted figure of $975,000.

If the same period the previous year had a total sales figure of $900,000, then the LFL would be calculated as $975,000/$900,000 = 108%. This means that the company has seen an 8% increase in sales figures compared to the same period the previous year.

By tracking the LFL performance, companies are able to remove the impact of newly opened stores or closed stores and get a more accurate picture of their performance in the same period.

How does the LFL work?

The LFL (Lateral Flow Loop) is an innovative method of heating and cooling that combines a radiant panel loop system with a mini-split system. This hybrid system works by circulating warm or cool air through existing hydronic radiant tubing networks, conditioning the air through mini-split air handlers.

The hydronic radiant tubing networks are designed to work in combination with air handlers to spread the air throughout the space being conditioned.

When the system runs, a control panel regulates water circulation throughout the loop by circulating a mix of warm and cold water. This flow of water is then spread throughout the radiant network, where thermal energy transfers through the hydronic radiant tubing and into the space being conditioned.

The same thermal energy is transferred through the mini-split air handler, where the air is conditioned and distributed in the space.

The combination of the radiant tubing system and the air handlers allows for very consistent zoning and accurate temperature control, eliminating both hot and cold spots in the space. This hybrid system is also able to adjust air flow and temperature quickly, providing superior comfort levels in the space.

Additionally, since the LFL uses existing water pipes, and no additional piping is necessary, it has a lower upfront cost compared to other heating and cooling systems.

Who invented the LFL?

The Laser Football League (LFL) was invented by Vincent Wang, a former IBM engineer and entrepreneur. Wang had a vision to combine the excitement of football with the technology of laser tag and laser tagging equipment.

He created the first LFL ‘arena’, which was an indoor, trampoline court with two goals at either end. He named the game ‘Laser Football’ or ‘Laser Tag Football’, and the team playing it ‘The New England Patriots’.

In the early days, rules of the game developed as play went on, and Wang formally developed a rule set which includes five players per team, the field being an enclosed space, the divisions between defense and offense, the goal posts and the goal ring.

The first official event was held in California, USA in 2004 and marked the start of the Laser Football League. The LFL soon gained popularity world-wide and by 2011 had 33 teams and over 400 players.

In 2017 the LFL welcomed China as its first international team.

Thanks to Vincent Wang’s vision, the LFL continues to grow and is now recognised as one of the world’s most innovative and exciting recreational sports.

How is LFL calculated?

LFL (Like-For-Like Growth) is a metric and measurement of growth that compares the sales of a particular period to the sales of the same period in the prior year. It is a measure of pure organic growth without any external influences such as new product introductions, increased marketing spending, or other changes resulting from business decisions.

In order to calculate LFL, the current period’s sales are compared to the prior period’s sales and is then adjusted for any external influences.

For example, let’s say that a business had $100 in sales in the first period and $120 in sales in the second period. If those sales were driven by increased marketing efforts, the LFL would not be 20%.

Instead, the $20 increase would be adjusted for the marketing spending, and then a more accurate LFL would be calculated.

To measure LFL growth, businesses typically look at revenue, units sold, and visits. It’s important to note that LFL measures performance over time, so it should ideally be reported on a month-by-month or quarter-by-quarter basis.

This allows businesses to track and compare organic growth, enabling them to make data-driven decisions to increase efficiency and profitability.
